VG Supply Chain
Some food supply chains are not well suited to provide local product.  We have a supply chain that is responsive to the needs of customers and supports the local economy and environment at the same time.

We are grower, processor, and retailer and we have noticed a problem with regular grocery store supply chains. Today, farmers grow food in one town and delivery that food in a truck to a broker (likely driving right past you on their way). The broker supplies larger volumes to a terminal or warehouse. Food sits in the warehouse until the grocery stores place an order for that specific product and it's not getting any fresher as it sits. The product is then loaded back on a truck and delivered to the store where you buy it, sometimes right down the road from the farm it was grown on.

Why is this? Probably because we eat product from all over the world and the local supply is only an inconvenience to this system which is tailored for out of country foods.
